These are to be synthetic rubber with reinforcing materials or 3 bellows type polytetrafluoroethylene resin, with a copper or cast-iron flange, with sufficient flexibility, heat resistance, pressure resistance (at least 1.5 times maximum working pressure), and vibration-isolating effect. In addition, ethylene‐propylene rubber must be used for brine.

〈Explanation of brine〉

Brine, in the context of heat-source equipment, is a heat-transfer medium for forming ice in ice storage systems.
Heat is exchanged between the brine piping of heat-source equipment and the piping of secondary air conditioning equipment.

The rubber materials in the flexible joints used in secondary air conditioning equipment are not limited to EPDM.
Additionally, EPDM (SL10) can be used for brine due to its freezing resistance performance.

There are no provisions for 1 bellows, 2 bellows etc. shape synthetic rubber flexible joints in the “Machinery and Equipment Work Shared Specifications.” There are however provisions for 3 bellows shape items among polytetrafluoroethylene resin flexible joints. * Polytetrafluoroethylene resin is a type of fluoro carbon polymer.
