Work related to tanks and cooling towers

Work related to tanks

Please use flexible joints as a measure against the occurrence of problems related to tanks in the event of earthquakes (tank cracking and rupture, connecting pipes breaking off, etc.)*
Please refer to the following installation examples of TOZEN products.

●When using flexible joints vertically

フレキシブルジョイントを縦に使う場合① フレキシブルジョイントを縦に使う場合①

When installing flexible joints vertically, we recommend LINERFLEX and Pure Joint, which are highly flexible x-x’ and y-y’ (both in the perpendicular direction).

●When using flexible joints horizontally

フレキシブルジョイントを縦に使う場合①

When installing flexible joints horizontally, we recommend Pure Joint, which easily absorbs displacement in the x-x’ (axial direction) and y-y’ (perpendicular direction).

  • ※(e)

Piping near tanks is as follows.

  • (2)

For connections excluding drainage and vent pipes from water reservoirs and elevated tanks, install bellows type flexible joints for copper plate and stainless copper plate tanks, and synthetic rubber flexible joints for FRP tanks.

  • (3)

Use JIS K 6741 (rigid polyvinyl chloride pipes) or JIS K 9798 (recycled rigid polyvinyl chloride foam 3-layer pipes) on overflow pipes for FRP tanks

  • (4)

The piping overview is as per the standard drawings (Installation 11: Topography and support overview of piping connected to equipment (2), Installation 68: Overview of piping connected to water reservoirs.

Installation around cooling towers

(c)

Piping connected to cooling towers must be sufficiently supported so that its weight is not directly applied to the cooling towers. In addition, cooling water inlets/outlets and makeup pipe inlets are to have synthetic rubber flexible joints installed and cooling water outlets are to have strainers fitted as per 2.2.9 “Flexible joints.”
